So... Who am I? By now you've probably found out that I'm a developer, and I have an opinion about most things. If you want me to dive a little deeper, here it goes. My name is Bryan Phillips and I'm a 33 year old developer who lives in Iowa. I've been working at the same company for 13 years (fresh out of college). I haven't been at a lot of other companies, but we've had our share of reorganizations, where it feels like I've been at 5 or so different companies. I'm a husband and a father. I watch sports and love to code. I primarily write Java and PHP applications, but have done .NET, VB6, COBOL and some others.
Aside from my full-time job, I've been working on a startup called duplie.com for a little over 2 years now (as of 2015). The original goals have changed and if you know me, you know it's all or nothing. So I took it to the extreme. What started out as a volunteer signup calendar, turned into a full-blown organization management system. I'm very quick at developing and designing applications, so when something takes me 2 years, it's going to be intense. I currently have some large nonprofits running on duplie.com, and am constantly enhancing it to do more.
I started this blog to help others and document my views. I hope this helps others!
